Cary, North Carolina, 20 February 2017 – LDG® MR16 lamp by Parhelion has been named a 2017 Award Finalist by the internationally renowned Edison Awards™.   The distinguished awards, inspired by Thomas Edison’s persistence and inventiveness, recognize innovation, creativity and ingenuity in the global economy.

“It’s exciting to see companies like Parhelion continuing Thomas Edison’s legacy of challenging conventional thinking,” said Frank Bonafilia, Edison Awards’ executive director.  “Edison Awards recognizes the game-changing products and services, and the teams that brought them to consumers.” Award winners will be announced April 20, 2017 at the Edison Awards Annual Gala, held in the historic Ballroom of the Capitale in New York City.

“We’re extremely proud to once again to have reached the Edison Awards finalist stage, following our Gold Edison Award back in 2015.“, said Erik Wellen, Parhelion’s CEO / co-founder. “After positive feedback from both the start-up community as well as lighting industry, receiving this recognition by such distinguished Edison Awards finalist status, once again confirms we’re on the right track with our innovation.”

Edison Award nominees are judged by more than 3,000 senior business executives and academics from across the nation whose votes acknowledge the Finalists’ success in meeting the award’s stringent criteria of quality.  The voting panel includes members of:

Chief Marketing Officer Council (CMO) - BPI Network

The LDG® MR16 lamp uses Parhelion’s innovative and patented Laser Diffraction Grating technology generating a very bright and crisp light, very close to daylight and using less than half of the energy compared to LED. This innovation is particularly interesting given the upcoming global ban on halogen lamps due to its high energy consumption.
